Cupcake Kits on Etsy

Well, we have finally started an etsy shop.  We put a couple of Halloween cupcake kits on there (yes...a little late), and we will be adding some Christmas kits soon.  Here is a bit of what you can find in our shop right now.
These kits include 24 cupcake toppers, 25 cupcake wrappers, and a piping bag and tip for frosting cupcakes.  They are packaged up nice and cute, complete with a recipe for buttercream frosting.  Check them out here in our shop!

Molly + Eddie

My sister-in-law, Molly, got married to her love, Eddie Sanchez, on August 6th.  The wedding was gorgeous, and my sisters and I were priviledged enough to do the dessert table and some of the other decor for the wedding.  We made the majority of the desserts, but Molly enlisted some of her friends to make a few of the dishes as well.

Here's how it turned out.
To create the chalkboard sign, we used one of our frames and nailed a sheet of chalkboard painted plywood inside.  With the rustic table we were using, we decided to use our white and clear dessert platters.  We also incorporated some of our other rustic pieces into the table as well as several of our vases and sign holders. Molly loves reading, so we decided to mix in some of our old books.  We created some globes to hang above the table and some pinwheels to hang on the sign.  Kristina's business, Plum Paper, created all the labels for the desserts.

Some of the dessert items we made....
Almond Spritz Cookies
Build Your Own Strawberry Shortcake
Strawberry Almond Tart
Vanilla Almond Cupcakes
Vanilla Cake Pops
Kristina, our sister who owns Plum Paper, designed paper to match Molly and Eddie's invitations.  We cut hearts from the paper to put on the sticks for the cake pops.
And of course chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.
Some other favorite items of ours that were used included....
Our rolling tea cart and chalkboard signs
Our vintage briefcase, decorated and used to hold cards
Our cookie jar, filled with delicious cookies made by some of Molly's friends
And our vintage wooden crate
The whole wedding was one of our favorite of all times.  Everything came together beautifully.
Congratulations Molly and Eddie!

and the winning theme is...

The votes have been cast and counted, the themes debated, and the location chosen.  After much deliberation we have decided Mindy's 30th birthday party theme will be...

...Enchanted Forest!

Now that you know the theme, you may be thinking to yourself "what does one wear to an enchanted forest party?"  We thought we would help you out with that and offer you some inspiration for your attire for the evening's festivities. (you may notice these men are all particularly good-looking...I have had dreams of marrying most of them at one point or another and thought this board would be so much more inspiring with them on it.  don't you agree?)

Final 30th Theme

Theme #3: Enchanted Forest

Well there you have them...our 3 thirty themes.  We want to turn them all into real parties (and probably eventually will) but we need your help choosing the best one for a 30th birthday!  So tell us your favorite!

And check out Mindy's "20 from my 20's" posts leading up to her big day.  Yep, only 20 days until she leaves her 3 sisters (and her husband) behind in their 20's and enters a new decade. And apparently she thinks she's getting gifts for this birthday because she's dropping hints on her blog...

Thirty

Yes, that's right...the eldest of the four of us will be turning 30 this year.  I know, hard to believe considering her youthful good looks and the fact that people still mistake her for a 12 year old.  Big birthdays, of course, must be accompanied by fabulous parties.  So, the planning has begun! First on the agenda... we have to decide on a theme.  So we've come up with some inspiration boards to help us choose our favorite.

Happy Birthday Emily Kate

Another year has gone by.
My sweet little Emily is four now.
I feel like it was yesterday when I would rock her to sleep in the church nursery.
Man, I miss that little baby girl!
Now, little Emi is cutest, most talkative girl I have ever met!
She is so funny and so sweet.
Her hugs melt my heart.
But, I still miss that innocent little baby...

This year, Emily decided she wanted Strawberry Shortcake's house for her birthday cake.
Here's how it turned out!

Don't you just want to open the door and go inside??

Emily loved her cake!! She just stared at it forever! So sweet!!

Here is the inside...

Her favorite color is pink :)

Here is the MacHarg family this past Halloween. I love all five of them so much!!!
That's right!! I said FIVE!!! In August, there will be another little baby MacHarg!!!
I am so excited for Heather and Skip!!

Here is a funny story about how I found out about this new addition:

The MacHarg's had been gone for a few weeks in Atlanta over Christmas. They are originally from Atlanta (where sister #3 now lives) and moved out here for Skip's job at Chick-fil-A.
When they came home, Heather asked me to babysit. I came over and Heather was already gone taking Connor to school, so I didn't get a chance to talk to her. (I'm assuming this is why I didn't already know about the baby ;) right Heather?)
I played with Emily for a while and then took her to school and went on to pick Connor up from Kindergarten.
As we're getting in the car and chatting, Connor nonchalantly says,
"Hey, did you know mommy's having a baby?"
Me: "What! Are you serious!?"
Connor--very casually: "Yeah, she really is. I think she's like nine weeks or something."
Me: "Seriously!!?? Connor, I don't think you're supposed to be telling people that."
This was followed with lots of excitement and the six year old shaking his head at me is if to say,
"Miss Kimmy, I don't understand why you are freaking out. It's not that big of a deal."

I love this family and I can't wait to meet the new baby!!

Happy Birthday Emily Kate!!!
